Celebrate Diversity of the Fox Valley invites people from all backgrounds to the 27th annual Community Picnic.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the beautiful Jefferson Park in Menasha, nonprofit organization Celebrate Diversity will provide food, live entertainment, activities and opportunities to meet new people.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to meet people who you don’t know. To make new friends. Meet people from different areas, places and people who have different backgrounds than you,” said Sharon Bowen, discussion coordinator at Celebrate Diversity.
Brats, veggie burgers, samosas, chips, salsa and dessert will be served during this annual event that draws roughly 400 people.
This is a family-friendly event with entertainment for all ages. There will be dancing by Happy Feet Performances and Indian-style dancing from Anindita Neogy Anaan.
Participants will also get a chance to learn Native American drumming from Woodland Boys and Girls drum group.
Expect piñatas, henna tattoos, art projects, children’s activities and activities for adults.
All are welcome to the picnic, said Bowen.
“We love having people from every walk of life, every background, we are very, very inclusive. We want everyone to come and every one to enjoy,” said Bowen.
