Debbie Thundercloud has been named the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin’s General Manager.
Thundercloud will become General Manager on April 7. GM is the most senior leadership position for the Tribe’s non-revenue operations.
Thundercloud served as the Tribe’s General Manager from 2006-2011 and was also Tribal Chairwoman from 1993-1999. While she was Chairwoman, the Tribe opened the Oneida Casino and she was also in that leadership position when the Tribe started a program of giving higher education grants.
Thundercloud has been an executive with Bellin Health, where she oversaw the Support Care Center. She also has a Bachelor’s from UWGB and a Master’s from Marquette.
“We are excited to welcome Debbie back home to the Oneida Nation,” said Oneida Chairman Tehassi Hill. “Although she was never far away while working with the National Indian Gaming Association, we look forward to her leadership and knowledge in organizational management to help move us forward.”
