Brandon Williams, the former University of Wisconsin and NFL wide receiver who now impacts people and communities around the country as a motivational speaker and mentor, will return as host and Master of Ceremonies for the second annual Wisconsin Leadership Summit, the organizers announced today.
The Wisconsin Leadership Summit gathers the most influential leaders of color from across Wisconsin, as named in Madison365’s Black Power and Sí Se Puede lists over the past four years, along with business leaders, community members, students and anyone who wishes to engage in important discussions around diversity, inclusion, equity and talent retention at Overture Center for the Arts and Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) on October 7 and 8, 2019, at the second annual Wisconsin Leadership Summit. The general public may also purchase tickets to this historic event.
Nearly 400 people attended the first Wisconsin Leadership Summit, and many more are expected this year.
“Brandon brings a dynamic and necessary voice to this gathering,” said Henry Sanders, CEO of 365 Media, which organizes the Summit in addition to operating the two leading publications for people of color in the Midwest, Madison365 and FoxValley365. “We will work through a lot of issues in the breakout panel sessions and workshops, and Brandon is uniquely able to bring it all together. He’s truly one of a kind.”
“Last year’s Wisconsin Leadership Summit was a revelation,” Williams said. “I’ve never felt that kind of energy at a conference. I am grateful to 365 Media for creating this space where people of color really drive the conversation and not just have a seat at the table, but set the table for ourselves. I am excited to be back and look forward to another amazing event.”
The conference will feature panel discussions on issues ranging from education to nonprofit leadership to incarceration, as well as a gala dinner, community arts showcase and many networking and professional development opportunities.
Registration is open now at http://www.wisconsinleadershipsummit.com. General conference registration is $249, with special rates for government and nonprofit employees as well as college and high school students.
