Green Bay Voyageurs FC has announced the addition of twin brothers, defender Cameron Briggs and forward Dominic Briggs, to the club’s roster, according to a press release from the club. The pair are the second set of twins named to the Voyageurs’ 2019 roster, joining Nick and Anthony Markanich of Northern Illinois University.
The Briggs brothers join GBVFC following their freshman season at Creighton University. The duo did not see any action in their rookie campaigns, after impressive prep careers in Oconomowoc.
Cameron was named to the 2017 Wisconsin All-State team and was named the Classic 8 Conference Player of the Year. In his senior season, he was named a finalist for the 2018 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel High School Sports Award for boys soccer player of the year. Cameron joins fellow Bluejay Jake Ronneberg in the Voyageurs defensive unit.
Dominic wrapped a prep career that featured many accolades, including an All-Classic 8 Conference selection, and earning Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore. Dominic was also a member of the Elmbrook United club team that captured the 2017 State Cup.
Head Coach Brian Kamler speaks highly of both brothers and their development. “Cameron is very good defensively and can join the attack out of the back. He is very good with his distribution out of the back,” Kamler said in a statement. “Dominic is very crafty with the ball and a player that makes very good runs off the ball. He is a player that can play in multiple positions.”
